This video was produced as a final year individual major animation at university, taking roughly 8 months to complete.
The understanding of music analysis that was developed with my previous project was built upon greatly in the production process; the ideas of what elements connect the audio to the visual, especially from an audience's point of view, were examined and hopefully to some extent captured.

The project report, worth 20% of the overall grade.
An animation completed for a 2nd year university project. It was an open brief, so I decided to focus on music analysis, with an eye to future work in music videos.
As I decided to focus on the analysis rather than the production, it became clear that there needed to be rules by which the animation was created. I find restrictions very useful, as they allow you to focus on the task in hand, and give you something to bounce off of. So I decided to limit myself to using using only primitives, and focus on the ideas of design and form of Johannes Itten, and also the abstract animations of Norman McLaren.
